Gigafactory 1 Cargo Trip Confirmed By Musk

It appears that Tesla's long-awaited electric truck cargo trips are officially underway from Gigafactory 1. On February 28, Tesla Semis were spotted on the highway, a significant step in electric semi process. Last Wednesday, CEO Elon Musk took to social media to promote the development:

Will the planned cargo route include Gigafactory 1?

In short, yes - for now. Musk indicated in his Instagram post that the first cargo trip involves hauling battery packs from Gigafactory 1 (Nevada) to the Tesla Freemont factory in California.

The trip will serve as a simple yet important step for Tesla electric semis, since it is roughly 250 miles long - half the distance Tesla claims its semis can travel with a full load. A completed journey without significant issues would undoubtedly be a "win" for Musk.

Here's hoping successful testing yields inspiring progress with electric semi distribution.
